Issaquah Highlands is a great place to raise kids, and Grand Ridge Elementary is a wonderful school to support their learning and growth. As the Grand Ridge PTSA, we would like to offer our help as you settle into your new community. Click here to download a list of resources that we hope will make your transition easier to becoming part of our school community. We also encourage you to reach out to us at grptsadiversitydirector@gmail.com with any questions you may have.

We hope you spend a little time exploring our website so that you know about all the ways that the PTSA (Parent Teacher & Student Association) supports the students of Grand Ridge.

The PTSA hosts many events and programs throughout the year for students and families, so it's a great idea to bookmark our homepage where you can always find the calendar and more information.

An easy first step as you get settled in our community is to join the PTSA. A family membership is $25 for the school year and with just that:

  • You provide opportunities for programs to enrich your child’s education in art, literacy, emotional and physical health, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
  • You have a say in how funds are raised and used at Grand Ridge.
  • You help determine which programs and activities are offered at Grand Ridge, such as the Spelling Bee,  STEM Club, Popcorn Fridays, and After School Movies.
  • You save money with benefits available from the state and national PTA.

Another way to get to know the community is through volunteering at the school - whether you have one hour to give or many. The rewards are numerous: witnessing engaged teachers and thriving students, meeting other dedicated parents, and seeing your child's eyes light up to have you in their world! While there are fewer volunteer opportunities in 2020-21 due to COVID-19 restrictions, we would love to connect on your interests.

If you are new to our school district (and maybe even to the United States), you may want to check out the numerous resources in multiple languages to get to know more about how school works here: Issaquah School District Cultural & Family Partnerships

If you have any questions or are looking to find information on specific activities, please contact Hannah Coblentz at grptsaoutreachdirector@gmail.com or Anca Popoaei at grptsadiversitydirector@gmail.com.
