Grand Ridge Elementary will host the Math Challenge Tournament® (MCT), an annual national math competition designed to spark excitement, confidence, and problem-solving skills in elementary students through healthy competition.

📅 Event Details (Grand Ridge)

• Event: Math Challenge Tournament® (MCT)

• Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 6:00 PM

• Location: Multi-Purpose Room (Grand Ridge Elementary)

• Duration: 1 hour

• Eligible Grades: Grades 2–5

  • Students in Grade 1 may participate and will compete at the Grade 2, Division II level.

📝 Registration & Fee (Required)

🚨 Registration Deadline: Thursday, March 6, 2026

All families must register and pay directly on the official Math Challenge Tournament website.

• Fee: $26 per student

• Payment: Paid directly to Ellipsis Academy / MCT

• Refund Policy: Tournament fees are non-refundable and non-transferable (per MCT Terms & Conditions)

Important:
Grand Ridge PTSA and the school do not collect fees, process payments, manage registrations, handle changes, or issue refunds for this event.

🧮 Tournament Divisions

Parents will select a division during registration.

Division I

For students enrolled in accelerated programs or studying at least one grade above their grade level
Examples include: HI-CAP, PEP, or similar programs

Division II

For all other students

➡️ If unsure, Division II is the appropriate choice for most students.

🏅 Awards & Recognition (2026)

• All registered students receive an MCT keepsake and participation ribbon.

• Medals are awarded to the top 10% of participants in each grade level and division.

• Medals are designed around MCT’s three pillars:
  Mathematics • Problem Solving • Critical Thinking

• The top overall scorer in each grade/division also earns a special MCT Champion Prize
  (2026 Champion Prize: TBD by MCT)

Awards criteria and final details are determined by MCT.

Families may optionally purchase downloadable PDF practice tests directly from the official Math Challenge Tournament website. These include past tournament questions at Levels 2–5 and free answer keys.
