August 26, 2021
2021-22 School Year - Volume 16, Issue 1
Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year from the Grand Ridge PTSA!

Welcome Grizzlies!  Whether you are new to Grand Ridge this year or returning to our school, we hope you are as excited as we are to kick off this school year.

If you have not done so already, please make sure we have your most up to date information on our website. If you are new to the school, please register on our website. If you are a returning Grizzly, please update your information on our website as contact information needs to be verified each year. Everyone can even update their student info to include whose classroom they are in once that is announced in Family Access on August 27!

Mark your calendar for August 30th!

Meet the Teacher is from 9:30-10:30am, outdoors. You can come at any point during this hour to briefly meet your student's teacher.

Curriculum Night is from 4-4:45pm for grades K-2, and 5-5:45pm for grades 3-5. This is an in person event. 1 adult per student may attend. Grades 1-5, please bring your student's school supplies to this event. If you are not attending this event, please send school supplies with your student on the first day of school. Kindergarten parents, please bring your student's school supplies to your scheduled Family Connections Conference.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

We wanted to share some information from the school for those of you who are new or may want a reminder. This information will help make drop off and pickup go more smoothly for everyone.

Arrival

The first bell is at 9:10am, and class starts when the second bell rings at 9:15am. Students may arrive to school at 9:00am and wait in their designated classroom line area. If you are driving, parking is available in the lot or on the streets outside the school. There is also some parking available in the upper area of College Drive.

Walking, Biking, Scooter

There are bike racks available, but you'll need your own lock if you want to lock it.

Driving

Students can be dropped off in the Curbside Drop-Off Lane. Those students will need to their designated classroom line area. To keep the line moving, please pull ahead and have your students exit the curbside ONLY after you have reached the crosswalk in the parking lot. Drivers should not park or exit their vehicle in the Curbside Drop-Off Lane . If your student needs more assistance, please park in parking lot or on the street outside the school and walk with or direct your student to their waiting area.

Dismissal

Students will be dismissed by their teacher at 3:40pm (1:30pm on Wednesdays). Please let your student know where you will meet them for pickup. Adults may wait on the sidewalk near their student's designated classroom line area, at their car in the parking lot, or in the Curbside Drop-Off Lane . Do not line up in the mid section of the parking lot. This is for thru traffic ONLY. Please use the Curbside Drop-Off Lane or park your vehicle. When using the Curbside Drop-Off Lane, please pull forward as the line moves to reduce the backups in the entrance to the lot and on Park Drive.

Back to School Volunteers Needed

Welcome Back Grizzly Volunteers! Can you spare 30 minutes before or after school? Help families find their way to the line up areas. We need people to help from 8:40-9:10am and 3:20-3:45pm on September 3, 7,8,9, and 10. Sign up for one or more shifts using this link.
