SUBJECT: February 2022 PTSA Newsletter [copy]

February 6, 2023
2022-23 School Year - Volume 17, Issue 6

February is a short but busy month at Grand Ridge Elementary

The Spelling Bee starts this week with over 80 registered participants! Kindergarten registration has begun for our district and current 5th Grade families will begin learning about transitioning to Middle School.

Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who have supported Popcorn Friday, Cultural Club and our January Teacher Appreciation breakfast. There are lots of additional opportunities to get involved this month.

The PTSA hopes everyone has a safe and fun mid-winter break!

PTSA Membership Drive

Please help us reach our membership goal of 100% while supporting all the ways the PTSA enriches your student's education. Your student's class could win an exciting class prize!

Our current membership rate is below 40% and we would like to encourage our existing members to reach out to other parents to educate them about all the ways the PTSA supports their student's education.

Wonderful events, such as, Falloween, Math Night, Cultural Fair, Popcorn Fridays, and our Art Docent program rely on PTSA membership dues.

Our membership drive is going on now through Feb. 17th. Each 2022-2023 Grand Ridge PTSA membership will earn a ticket for the drawing. The more PTSA members in your student's class by the 17th, the more opportunities to win!

Volunteers Needed - Cultural Fair 2023

The Grand Ridge Elementary PTSA is hoping to bring back the Cultural Fair to our school this Spring. Cultural Fair is a fun, exciting and educational event that celebrates the rich diversity of cultures that we have represented in our school. This is a special night when everyone is encouraged to share their heritage with their friends and the community.

We need volunteers to help in many different ways like being part of the planning group, hosting a country booth or being a helping hand at a country booth. If we are unable to get enough volunteers, the event will likely not occur this calendar year.

If you are interested in learning more and volunteering, please contact grptsapresident@gmail.com today!

Popcorn Friday is February 10th

Popcorn Friday is back for the 2nd Friday of each month. And this year it's free for all students!

Allergies? These are the products used for Popcorn Friday:

- Orville Redenbacher Popcorn

- Gold Metal Pop a Lot canola popping oil

- Gold Metal flavacol seasoning salt

Please consider signing up to volunteer to help make and pass out popcorn during recess.
