2020-21 School Year - Volume 15, Issue 10

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching. We are so grateful for our entire Grizzly community. Thank you to all of you for your part in making this school year successful.

A special thank you to all those who volunteered in some way this year. You may have helped your child's teacher, donated your time or items to a staff appreciation event, worked on our yearbook, or assisted in another way. We are very thankful for our volunteers!

We are also excited to announce that Hannah Coblentz and Kainoa Patterson were voted in as next year's PTSA President and Vice-President. As they lead the team in planning for next year, please continue to watch our website and social media for updates and activities. If you have any questions, you can always reach us at grptsa@gmail.com.

Have a wonderful summer Grizzlies!

Join the Fun at Summerfest, June 10

Grand Ridge families are invited to our end of the school year celebration, Summerfest, on Thursday, June 10. It's a drive through event from 5-7pm with: goodie bags, a game or two that kids came play from the car window, music & teachers waving to our families, and a popsicle treat on the way out. Spend a few minutes of your Thursday evening "driving through" the fun to celebrate the end of the school year.

We need a few volunteers for this event. If you are interested in helping out, sign up here.

Yearbook Distribution

Yearbooks will be distributed this month! If your student is a hybrid learner, they will receive their yearbook in class. If your student is a remote learner, they will be able to pick it up at Summerfest. If you have any questions, please contact us at grptsa@gmail.com.

5th Grade Celebration

Congratulations to our 5th Graders! We are going to miss you at Grand Ridge next year, but we know you're on your way to do wonderful things in middle school. 5th grad families are invited to join the drive through celebration at school on Wednesday, June 16 from 2-4pm.

Academic Grants for Students available

The Issaquah Schools Foundation is launching a new program!

Students often struggle with one or more subjects in school for various reasons, all of which could benefit from supplemental academic support.  To improve accessibility to academic support services, the Issaquah Schools Foundation is offering grants for students who need help to pay for tutoring and other academic assistance programs.

This academic grant program for students is available to all Issaquah School District students K-12 and grants will be awarded up to $500 per student.  Applications are currently open with a June 4, 2021 deadline.  Grants will be awarded in mid-June.

Details and application at: https://isfdn.org/academicgrants

Summer Meals

Summer Lunch is our annual program to help fill the gap in the summer when kids aren't receiving lunch at school. School-age children (K-12) within the Issaquah School District will receive breakfast, lunch, and snack items, as well as a variety of produce and deli options, every other week beginning Friday, June 25. If you need grocery assistance this summer or would like to donate to this program, please visit https://www.issaquahfoodbank.org/summer-lunch-program

Tools4Schools

In partnership with the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank, ISF is hosting a drive-up event at Clark Elementary again this summer on August 12. Registration for families who wish to participate will open in early June. You can donate to support Tools4School, or volunteer here.
