SUBJECT: Back to School - Welcome from PTSA

August 31, 2020
2020-21 School Year - Volume 15, Issue 1
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year from the Grand Ridge PTSA!

This school year may look different than any before, but our mission stays the same: To create and foster opportunities that enrich and support our children, school, and community.

We are listening and learning about what this year will look like so we can work together to make this year special. We would love two minutes of your time on this survey to share your perspective: Parent Survey

Also, since we know our Grizzlies love art, we’ve included our Grizzly logo that students can color, paint or make their own design to share at the start of the year.

A Message from Issaquah Schools Foundation

Current economic times have made it a struggle for many families in our District.  As you know, the educational environment has changed rapidly in the last six months, making support of the Issaquah Schools Foundation critical. For 34 years, the Issaquah Schools Foundation has been funding programs and resources for both students and teachers. We have made it our goal inspire innovation while meeting emerging needs - including technology and on-line tools to support remote learning for more than 20,000 students.

If you are able make a gift to us,  please visit isfdn.org/donate. Help us stay agile and Step Up for Kids to make an impact in our community!

Donate to Gift-A-Book

The Grand Ridge PTSA is proud to sponsor the GIFT-A-BOOK program which expands our school’s library with new and exciting high-quality materials and promotes reading among our students. This year we are offering the option of selecting either an eBook or a physical book. Books are typically $15-$50 each. Learn more here!

Reflections Art Program

The theme for the 2020-21 school year is "I Matter Because....". Students can use their creative talents to express themselves through original art work on this theme. Learn more on our Reflections Art Program page.

Playground Improvements

Over the summer, a group of volunteers installed new playground games on the blacktop to brighten things up and provide different opportunities to students as they play. This idea for this project came from a Grand Ridge parent in the fall of 2019. The project was approved at a membership meeting, and then Outreach Director, Hannah Coblentz, lead a team to make it a reality. While we are starting the year with distance learning, these fun games will be available to those attending the BASC program and will be eagerly awaiting the return of more students to enjoy them.
